Describe the relationship between the two heads of the bird.
पक्षी के दोनों सिरों के बीच के सम्बन्ध का वर्णन करो।
Answer:
There was great relationship between the two heads of the bird. They both have a single stomach. In this way they have a root and equal blood. There was not any difference between them. They cannot be separated from each other and there was not any existence of any one without the other. In this way they were based on each other and they cannot be called two but a single creature.
They both love each other and admire to one another but there was a slight difference between their mentality. The first head had the sense of selfishness and the second head was full of envy and these were the major drawbacks of them. They could not tolerate the views and rights due to ignorance of each other which were one in fact. In this way we can say that their relationship was not good and became the cause of their death.
पक्षी के दोनों सिरों के बीच गहरा सम्बन्ध था। उन दोनों के एक ही पेट था। इस तरह उनके एक ही जड़ थी व एक ही खून था। उन दोनों के बीच में कोई फर्क नहीं था। वे एक-दूसरे से अलग नहीं हो सकते थे तथा एक-दूसरे के बिना उनका कोई अस्तित्व नहीं था। इस तरह वे एक-दूसरे पर आधारित थे और उन्हें दो नहीं कहा जा सकता था बल्कि वे एक ही प्राणी थे।
वे दोनों एक-दूसरे को प्रेम करते थे तथा एक-दूसरे की तारीफ करते थे लेकिन उनकी मानसिकता में थोड़ा अन्तर था। पहले सिर में स्वार्थ की भावना थी तथा दूसरा सिर ईष्र्या से भरा था और ये उनके बड़े दोष थे। वे अज्ञानता के कारण एक-दूसरे के विचारों व अधिकारों को सहन नहीं कर सके जो कि वास्तव में एक ही थे। इस तरह हम कह सकते हैं कि उनके सम्बन्ध अच्छे नहीं थे और उनकी मृत्यु के कारण बन गए। :

Answer:
On behalf of the story, the narrator delivers an important message to the human being that they must have the sense of dedication and cooperation for others inspite of criticism and selfishness because the thoughts of selfishness makes us dishonest and alone. It becomes the cause of our death. Single stomach of the bird and its two heads are the message for the human being that we all are based on each other and one’s wrong deed may be the cause of death of other.
He says that the nature is our single base by which we all are connected. If one of us make any mistakes then this action becomes the cause of complication for other. So that in order to make this world peaceful and ever green we ought to develop the sense of sacrifice for others and try to control our individual emotions for the welfare of others.
कहानी के माध्यम से लेखक मानव जाति को महत्त्वपूर्ण शिक्षा प्रदान करता है कि उन्हें दूसरों के लिए समर्पण वे सहयोग के भाव रखने चाहिए, स्वार्थ व आलोचना करने के बजाय क्योंकि स्वार्थ की भावना हमें बेईमान तथा अकेला कर देती है। यह हमारी मृत्यु का कारण बन जाता है। पक्षी का एक पेट तथा इसके दो सिर मानव जाति के लिए एक सन्देश है कि हम एक-दूसरे पर आधारित हैं तथा एक का गलत कार्य दूसरे की मृत्यु का कारण बन सकता है। वह कहता है कि प्रकृति हम सब का एक आधार है।

Why was the bird strange? Explain.
पक्षी विचित्र क्यों था? समझाइए।
Answer:
The bird was strange because generally all birds have single head and single stomach but this bird had double head but shared a common stomach. It was an abnormal structure because the bird could eat more than one thing at a time and could see all the direction at one time. These were its extra features.
पक्षी विचित्र था क्योंकि सामान्यतया सभी पक्षियों के एक सिर व एक ही पेट होता है लेकिन इस पक्षी के दो सिर थे तथा उनके लिए पेट एक ही था। इस तरह से यह एक असामान्य ढाँचा था क्योंकि यह पक्षी एक समय में एक से अधिक वस्तुएँ खा सकता था तथा एक समय में सारी दिशाओं को देख सकता था। ये उसके अतिरिक्त गुण थे।

How did the first head react after getting the fruit?
फल प्राप्त करने के बाद प्रथम सिर ने कैसी प्रतिक्रिया की?
Answer:
The first head became very happy having got the fruit. He exclaimed with joy and said that the fruit was very delicious and it had been sent by the heaven for him and the head considered himself lucky who would get such a flavourish fruit. Moreover it, he saw the fruit at first so that he had the first right to eat the fruit.
फल को प्राप्त कर पहला सिर बहुत अधिक खुश हुआ। उसने खुशी से प्रतिक्रिया की तथा बोला कि फल बहुत स्वादिष्ट था तथा यह फल उसके लिए भगवान ने भेजा था तथा सिर ने स्वयं को भाग्यशाली माना जिसने ऐसा स्वादिष्ट फल प्राप्त किया। इससे भी अधिक, उसने फल को पहले देखा था इसलिए उसे इस फल को खाने का प्रथम अधिकार था।

I am sure the heaven have sent it for me. This sentence clears the selfish mentality of the first head of the bird. He considers himself lucky and realises that God loves him more than others. It clears that the first head counts itself better than the second head. In this way his activities discloses his nature which is full of selfishness.

पहले सिर ने दूसरे सिर को फल चखने की इजाजत क्यों नहीं दी?
Answer:
The first head did not allow the second head to taste the fruit because the first head said to the second head that he knows that they both have single stomach so whichever head eats, the fruit will go to the same stomach. So it makes no difference whether the first head or second eats the fruit. Moreover it, he said that the first head saw the fruit at first so that it was his right to taste the fruit and not allow the second to taste it.
प्रथम सिर ने दूसरे सिर को फल खाने की इजाजत नहीं दी क्योंकि प्रथम सिर ने दूसरे से कहा कि वह जानता है कि उन दोनों के एक ही पेट है इसलिए जो कोई-सा भी सिर खाएगा, फल तो एक ही पेट में जाएगा। इसलिए इससे कोई फर्क नहीं पड़ता है कि फल पहला सिर खाता है या दूसरा सिर। इससे और अधिक इसने कहा कि प्रथम सिर ने फल को पहले देखा इसलिए यह फल को खाने का उसका अधिकार था और उसने दूसरे सिर को फल खाने की इजाजत नहीं दी।

I will eat the poisonous fruit. This sentence shows the determination of the second head of taking avenge. It is clear that the second head also has the sense of envy and wants to take revenge on the first head. He was angry but could not think about his moral duty to save the life of others. If the second head had broad heart and kindness as well as the sense of dedication, he could save the life of both by changing his decision.
मैं इसे जहरीले फल को खाऊँगा। यह वाक्य दूसरे सिर के बदला लेने के दृढ़ निश्चय को दर्शाता है। यह स्पष्ट है कि दूसरे सिर में भी विद्वेष की भावना थी तथा पहले सिर से बदला लेने की चाहत थी। वह नाराज था, लेकिन दूसरों का जीवन बचाने के अपने नैतिक कर्तव्य के बारे में नहीं सोचा। यदि दूसरा सिर बड़ा दिल रखता तथा उसमें दयालुता होती और समर्पण के भाव होते तो वह अपने निर्णय को बदल कर दोनों का जीवन बचा सकता था।

Answer:
Ignorance and selfishness became the main cause of the death of the both heads because if the first head would allow the second head to taste the fruit and the second head would forgive the mistake of the first head then both would remain alive and lived their life happily but their rude behaviour and the nature to kneel down other and considering own self better than other one would become the real cause of their death.
अज्ञानता तथा स्वार्थ दोनों सिरों की मृत्यु का कारण बन गया क्योंकि यदि पहला सिर दूसरे सिर को फल चखने की इजाजत देता और दूसरा सिर पहले सिर की गलती को माफ कर देता तो दोनों जीवित बच जाते तथा अपना जीवन सुखपूर्वक गुजारते लेकिन उनके रूखे व्यवहार तथा दूसरों को नीचा दिखाने की प्रकृति ने तथा स्वयं को दूसरों से श्रेष्ठ समझने की विचारधारा ही उनकी मृत्यु का वास्तविक कारण बन गई।
