Report-Writing क्या है – Report शब्द लैटिन भाषा के ‘Reporter’ शब्द से बना है जिसका अर्थ होता है। ‘वापिस ले जाना’। अतः report का अर्थ है किसी गतिविधि या घटना का वर्णन उस व्यक्ति के पास ले जाना जो उस घटना के समय उपस्थित नहीं था।
“A report is a real or genuine description or statement about something that has been seen, heard or done by a person.”
Report का महत्व- रिपोर्ट किसी के द्वारा देखी या सुनी गई घटना का विवरण होता है। इसका हर क्षेत्र में महत्व दिन-प्रतिदिन बढ़ता जा रहा है। एक रिपोर्ट एक बड़े दस्तावेज के रूप में भी हो सकती है।
Report on Event लिखते समय निम्नलिखित बातों का ध्यान रखना चाहिए:

(g) Prize distribution (if at all required) etc.

On Friday afternoon, Ratan Ram dumped both of his children, one by one, into the well. They died of drowning. Then, he too jumped into the well.
Later, when the villagers did not see him around for a long time, they started searching for him. After tracing the bodies, the villagers informed the police. Sources said that Ratan Ram was reportedly frustrated due to the prolonged illness of his wife and, therefore, decided to kill the children and himself. Locals said they were shocked that Ratan Ram could take such an extreme step.
SHO, Phalana, Chandra Shekhar said that the bodies were taken out with the help of the villagers. After the postmortem, the bodies were handed over to the relatives.

Thirty teams from different schools participated in this tournament. Many exciting matches were played. All the girls were tall, well-built, lively and gay. The players played well. There was a big crowd of students. Some of the players became desperate and rash in this tournament but they were soon warned and checked. The tournament lasted for five days during which many interesting matches were played. The first prize went in favour of the most honest team.

The night celebrations of a marriage party in the community hall were spoilt when a group of guests started feeling nausea and vomit. Later, others started complaining too. This, of course, was noticed to happen when they ate milk products. But before anything could be done to prevent it, mass food poisoning already had taken place. Soon, the laughter of happiness was overshadowed by the cries of people. The arrangement of doctors was made at the earliest and immediate medical treatment was given. Things seemed to come under control in an hour or two. But the exact reason for this poisoning is still a mystery.

Madhuri had been physically and mentally tortured by them since the day of her marriage. Her in-laws and husband were really greedy. Kota, 19th JulyChild Welfare Association conducted a campaign against child labour. Undoubtedly, it has been a success as the members of the association came on roads to pick out the children working at various tea-stalls, hotels, shops, etc. and arranged a guidance programme for their parents. This enabled them to understand the importance of education. The organisation itself promised suitable financial help for these children and their families from time to time. Jhunjhunu on Thursday earned the distinction of being the first smoke-free district in the state on “World No Tobacco Day”. Now, if any person is caught smoking at public places in Jhunjhunu, he or she would be challenged. The public places include railway stations, bus stands, banks, government offices, schools, colleges and other public and tourist places. The district administration has marked certain places where a person can smoke. Nine people lost their eyesight after undergoing cataract surgery at a private hospital. The victims were shifted to the government-run Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Faridabad where the doctors said the retinas of the victims had been damaged and chances of regaining their eyesight were very less. Although the patients underwent the botched surgery six days ago, the incident came to light only on Sunday after the doctors of SD Eye Hospital confirmed the loss of eyesight. Four others, who also underwent the surgery at Amma Eye Hospital on March 22, are recovering at Shankar Eye Hospital near Guntur.

Legislative assembly elections took place in Rajasthan this month. Code of conduct had been imposed by the election department since the declaration of the election. Political parties launched their election campaigns. The posters and banners of the candidates could be seen in many places. Some candidates moved door-to-door to win the confidence of the people. Political parties held election meetings. The whole atmosphere appeared politically charged. On the day of the election, people could be seen going to cast their votes. There was a police force to ensure a free and fair poll. Polling started at 7.00 a.m. and closed at about 5.00 p.m. As it was a state holiday people had all the time to vote for and elect their representative.

इस महीने राजस्थान में विधान सभा चुनाव सम्पन्न हुए। चुनाव की घोषणा से ही निर्वाचन विभाग द्वारा आचार संहिता लागू कर दी गई थी। राजनीतिक दलों ने अपने चुनाव अभियान शुरू कर दिये। अभ्यर्थियों के पोस्टरों तथा बैनरों को कई स्थानों पर देखा जा सकता था। लोगों ने अपने दल के लिए मतदाताओं को कई दिनों पहले से ही रिझाना शुरू कर दिया था। कुछ अभ्यर्थी लोगों का विश्वास जीतने के लिए घर घर जा रहे थे। राजनीतिक दलों ने सभाएँ आयोजित की। पूरा वातावरण चुनाव से भरा हुआ लग रहा था। चुनाव के दिन, लोगों को वोट डालने जाते हुए देखा जा सकता था। हमारे विद्यालय को पोलिंग बूथ बनाया गया था। स्वतंत्र व निष्पक्ष चुनाव के लिए वहाँ पर पुलिस बल था। पोलिंग प्रातः 7.00 बजे शुरू हुआ और सांय लगभग 5.00 बजे बंद हुआ। क्योंकि यह एक राजकीय अवकाश था, लोगों के पास मतदान करने व अपने प्रतिनिधि को चुनने हेतु पूरा समय था।

Like previous years, this year too Agrawal Club, Alwar, celebrated Independence Day with great pomp and show. One of the main features of the function was the Blood Donation Camp. The function started at 8:00 a.m. with Flag Hoisting ceremony by the chairman. After that, we performed many colourful cultural programmes. After the cultural programmes ended at 11:00 a.m., the Blood Donation Camp was organised. Chairman motivated us for blood donation. He said that blood donation can help a dying person. A man should help man. He was the first to donate his blood. Approximately, twenty members of the club donated their blood in the camp. It was a great satisfaction for every donor.

पिछली साल की तरह इस वर्ष भी अग्रवाल मंडली, अलवर द्वारा स्वतंत्रता दिवस धूमधाम से मनाया गया। इस कार्यक्रम का एक मुख्य उद्देश्य रक्तदान शिविर था। इस कार्यक्रम की शुरूआत चेयरमैन के द्वारा प्रातः आठ बजे झण्डा फहराने के साथ हुई। इसके बाद हम लोगों ने अनेक रंगारंग सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किये। सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम के बाद प्रातः 11 बजे से रक्तदान शिविर का आयोजन हुआ। चेयरमैन ने हम लोगों को रक्तदान के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया। उन्होंने कहा कि रक्तदान किसी मरते हुये व्यक्ति की जान बचा सकता है। एक मनुष्य को दूसरे मनुष्य की मदद करनी चाहिए। वे पहले व्यक्ति थे जिन्होंने रक्तदान किया। लगभग मंडली के 20 सदस्यों ने शिविर में अपना रक्तदान किया। यह प्रत्येक दाता के लिए संतुष्टि की चरम अवस्था थी।

An Inter-State Cultural festival was held at our school from Jan. 1, 20– to Jan. 4, 20–. All the states of the country with their troupes participated in it. All of them gave outstanding performances representing the culture of their state. But the most striking performance was given by the South Indian Cultural Troupe. It was a Kathakali dance which was performed by four dancers. Their excellent footwork and impressive gestures of their hands complemented with vocal and instrumental music were mesmerising to watch. The eldest son of Mr Shiv Singh, a businessman, was fatally injured in an accident this morning. A blood donation camp was successfully organised at St. Peter’s School in this picturesque hill station. The event was coordinated by the Lion’s Club of Mount Abu and supported by a team of doctors. The camp began at 9 a.m. and continued till 4 p.m. About two hundred and fifty volunteers donated blood after due testing and verification of each donor. The School’s principal and the governor of Lions Club thanked all donors and issued the certificates. Donors were provided coffee and refreshment, which was sponsored by a local fruit processing enterprise.

A massive earthquake struck the Himalayan country at 11.55 a.m. today. The earthquake had an intensity of 8.2 on the Richter scale and its aftershocks still continue. The earthquake had its epicentre 20 km from Kathmandu and it lay 5 km below the earth’s surface. Deaths have been estimated at 715, while thousands of wounded people have been shifted to various hospitals. Rescue teams have been dispatched from India. Nepal has declared a national emergency. Destruction has been widespread and many towns besides Kathmandu lie in ruins. The Indian government has pledged full support to the people of Nepal.
