In the poem, given below you noticed that two successive lines end with the words having similar sound.
नीचे दी गई कविता में आपने ध्यान दिया कि दो निरन्तर पंक्तियाँ समान ध्वनि दर्शाने वाले ‘शब्दों के साथ समाप्त हो रही हैं।
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.
First two lines end with similar sounding words: ‘star’ and ‘are’ while the next two lines have similar sounding words : ‘high’ and ‘sky’ in the end. Such words are called rhyming words.
Now, look at the words given in the box and arrange them in the table under the words with similar sounds.
पहली दो पंक्तियाँ समान ध्वनि दर्शाने वाले शब्दों ‘star’ तथा ‘are’ पर समाप्त हो रही हैं। जबकि अगली दो पंक्तियाँ समान ध्वनि वाले शब्दों ‘high तथा ‘sky’ पर समाप्त हो रही हैं। ऐसे शब्दों को ‘तुकबन्दी शब्द’ (rhyming words) कहा जाता है। अब बॉक्स में दिए गए शब्दों को देखें तथा तालिका में नीचे दिए गए शब्दों के समान ध्वनि के साथ उन्हें व्यवस्थित कीजिए।

Do you know where the sun goes in the evening? Does it become cool in the night? Write a paragraph on what you think.
क्या आप जानते हैं कि सायंकाल में सूर्य कहाँ चला जाता है? क्या यह रात में ठण्डा हो जाता है? आप क्या सोचते हो, उसे एक गद्यांश में लिखिए।
Answer.
The sun is the star at the centre of the solar system. It is always in the sky and shines all the time. It gives us light. The earth on which we live, is a planet. It moves round the sun and moves on its axis. The front part of the earth receives light of the Sun and the Sun is seen from there. But the part of the earth where the sunlight does not reach the Sun is not seen from there. We think that the sun has gone away. The sun never becomes cool. It is always hot.
सूर्य सौर परिवार के केन्द्र में स्थित एक तारा है। यह हमेशा आसमान में होता है तथा पूरे समय चमकता है। यह हमें प्रकाश देता है। पृथ्वी एक ग्रह है, जिस पर हम रहते हैं। यह सूर्य के चारों तरफ परिक्रमा करती है तथा अपनी धुरी पर भी घूमती है। पृथ्वी का सूर्य के सामने वाला हिस्सा सूर्य का प्रकाश प्राप्त करता है तथा वहाँ से सूर्य दिखाई देता है, लेकिन पृथ्वी का वह भाग जहाँ सूर्य का प्रकाश नहीं पहुँचता, वहाँ से सूर्य दिखाई नहीं देता। हम सोचते हैं कि सूर्य चला गया है। सूर्य कभी भी तृण्ड़ा नहीं होता है। यह हमेशा गर्म ही रहता है।

How many stars do you see in the sky at night? Have you heard about the Pole star (Dhruv Tara)? Do you know the story behind it? Ask your parents and elders and discuss it with your friends in the class.
