Answer:
(i) Lohagarh Fort (Bharatpur)- This fort was constructed by Maharaj Surajmal in 1733. A deep trench surrounds the fort which is filled with water from the Moti Jhill. This fort is an example of a specific architectural style.

(ii) Kumbhalgarh Fort (Rajsamand)- This fort is situated in Rajsamand district which is also known as The Eye of Mewar. This fort was constructed by Maharana Kumbha for the sake of his wife.

(iii) Sonar Fort (Jaisalmer)- It was constructed by MaharaoJaisel. This fort was constructed only by stones. No limestones were used here.

(iv) Jaigarh Fort (Jaipur)- It was constructed by Maharaj Mansingh I in 1600. Later, Mirza King SawaiJaisingh changed the structure of this fort. After the name of Jaismgh, this fort is named as Jaigarh fort.

Write a note on Chittorgarh Fort.
Answer:
Fort of Chittorgarh- Chittorgarh Fort is a hill fort. It is a huge and very high fort. The fort of Chittor is a matchless example of Rajasthan’s art and architecture. It is a very famous fort in the history of Rajasthan.

Front door- A big gate with pointed nails are there on the gate of the fort for safety purposes.

Walls- The walls of this fort are very thick and holes are also there in the upper part of the walls . The forts were constructed at high altitudes and the rocks required for their construction were transported with the help of elephants.

Mahal- Many palaces are there in the fort. Palaces were constructed for the residence of the kings and his family members. These palaces were very beautiful.

Stambh- There are 2 stambhs in the fort
(i) Vijay stambh
(ii) KirtiStambh. The kings and the emperors got their memorials constructed as a remembrance of their victories. Vijay stambh was constructed by Maharana Kumbha. It consists of 9 storeys.

KirtiStambh- It consists of 7 storeys. There are several statues in the KirtiStambh.

Turret- Turrets were built in the fort.
