Question 1.
Convert the time units of following questions,
(i) \(10\frac { 3 }{ 5 }\) hour = …………… minute
(ii) \(2\frac { 1 }{ 4 }\) hour = …………… seconds
(iii) \(\frac { 1 }{ 5 }\) minute = …………… seconds
(iv) \(1\frac { 2 }{ 3 }\) minute = …………… seconds
Solution.
(i) \(10\frac { 3 }{ 5 }\) hour = 10 hour + \(\frac { 3 }{ 5 }\) hour
= 10 x 60 minutes + \(\frac { 3 }{ 5 }\) x 60 minutes
= 600 minutes + 3 x 12 minutes
= 600 minutes + 36 minutes
= 636 minutes

(ii) \(2\frac { 1 }{ 4 }\) hour = 2 hour + \(\frac { 1 }{ 4 }\) hour
= 2 x 60 minutes + \(\frac { 1 }{ 4 }\) x 60 minutes
= 120 minutes + 15 minute
= 120 x 60 seconds + 15 x 60 seconds
= 7200 seconds + 900 seconds
= 8100 seconds

RBSE Solutions

(iii) \(\frac { 1 }{ 5 }\) minute = \(\frac { 1 }{ 5 }\) x 60 seconds = 12 seconds
