Question 1.
How many meters are there in 3 \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) kilometer ?
Solution.
3 \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) kilometer = 3 kilometer + \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) kilometer
= 3 × 1000 meter + \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) × 1000 meter
=3000 meter + 500 meter
= 3500 meter
Therefore, there are 3500 meter in 3 \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) kilometer

Convert 6500 gram into kilograms.
Solution.
6500 gram = 6000 gram + 500 gram
= 6 × 1000 gram + 500 gram
= 6 kg. + \(\frac { 500 }{ 1000 }\) kg

= 6 \(\frac { 1 }{ 2 }\) kg.
Therefore, there is 6.500 kg. in 6500 gram.

Convert 2250 millilitre into litres.
Solution.
2250 millilitre = 2000 millilitre + 250 millilitre
= 2 × 1000 millilitre + 250 millilitre
= 2 litre + \(\frac { 250 }{ 1000 }\) litre
= 2 litre + 250 litre = 2.250 litre
= 2 \(\frac { 1 }{ 4 }\) litre
