परीक्षा में इस प्रकार के प्रश्न में उत्तर (Answerwer) दिया होता है और उसके आधार पर एक प्रश्न (Question) बनाना पड़ता है । प्रश्न (Question) दो प्रकार से बनाये जा सकते | हैं-

  1. सहायक क्रियाओं (Helping Verbs) का प्रयोग करके।
  2. प्रश्नवाचक शब्दों (What, where, why, When, How, Whom, Who, Which, How many, How much आदि) का प्रयोग करके ।

(1) सहायक क्रिया का प्रयोग करके प्रश्न बनाना – उत्तर में अगर वाक्य Yes या No से प्रारम्भ हो तो प्रश्न Helping
Verb का प्रयोग करके बनाया जाता है । उसका क्रम इस प्रकार होगा –
Helping Verb + Subject + Main Verb + ………?

(i) अगर वाक्य में सहायक क्रिया दी हुई हो तो उसे वाक्य में सबसे पहले कर्ता के अनुसार लाते हैं । अगर वाक्य में सहायक क्रिया नहीं दी गई हो तो Verb की form के अनुसार सहायक क्रिया लाते हैं | First form के साथ Do यो Does कर्ता के अनुसार लाते हैं । अगर वाक्य में क्रिया की Second form दी गई हो तो Did का प्रयोग करते हैं । Did के साथ क्रिया की First form लाते हैं । He, she, it, they तथा name नहीं बदलते हैं ।

(ii) प्रश्न बनाते समय उत्तर में दिये गये कर्ता का Pronoun भी बदल जाता है । अगर उत्तर में First person हो तो प्रश्न बनाते समय उसे second person में बदल देते हैं।
और अगर second person हो तो उसे first person में बदल देते हैं। जैसे –

Answer. Yes, I learn my lesson.
Ques. Do you learn your lesson?
Answer. No, I did not buy a book.
Ques. Did you buy a book ?
Answer. Yes, you can take your book.
Ques. Can I take my book ?

(1) ………..to see the fair ?
Answer. Yes, I go to see the fair.
Ques. Do you go to see the fair ?
(2) ………homework ? ।
Answer. Yes, I am doing my homework.
Ques. Are you doing your homework ?
(3) ………to Delhi yesterday ?
Answer. No, I did not go to Delhi yesterday.
Ques. Did you go to Delhi yesterday ?

(2) प्रश्नवाचक शब्दों से बनने वाले प्रश्न – अगर उत्तर में Yes या Noने आये हों तो उनके प्रश्न बनाते समय प्रश्नवाचक शब्दों का प्रयोग करते हैं । ये प्रश्नवाचक शब्द किसी न किसी प्रकार की सूचना प्राप्ति की जानकारी देते हैं । इसका क्रम इस प्रकार होता है –
Question Word + Helping Verb + Subject + Main Verb + ………. ?

1. Where…………?
Answer. I am going to the market.
Ques. Where are you going ?
2. When…………..?
Answer. I went to his house yesterday.
Ques. When did you go to his house ?

विभिन्न प्रश्नवाचक शब्द विभिन्न सूचनाओं की जानकारी के लिए प्रयोग किये जाते हैं –

where (कहाँ)– इससे स्थान सम्बन्धी सूचना मिलती है।
what (क्या)– इसका प्रयोग subject या object के रूप में सामान्य पूछताछ के लिए किया जाता है ।।
When (कब)– इसका प्रयोग समय की सूचना के लिए किया जाता है ।
why (क्यों)– इसका प्रयोग कारण पूछने के लिए किया जाता है ।।
which (कौन-सा)- व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं में से चुनने के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है।
How (कैसे) – तरीका, अवस्था, दशा या साधन की जानकारी के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है ।
whom (किसे) – कर्म पूछने के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है ।
How far (कितनी दूर) – दूरी जानने के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है ।
How old (कितनी उम्र) – उम्र जानने के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है ।
How many (कितने) – व्यक्तिओं या वस्तुओं की संख्या जानने के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है ।
How much (कितना) – वस्तु या पदार्थ की मात्रा जानने के लिए इसका प्रयोग किया जाता है ।।

उदाहरण –
(a) Q. Who…………….?
Answer. The watchman keeps the key.
Question : Who keeps the key ?
(Subject हटाकर उसके स्थान पर who लिख दिया जाता है)

(b) Q. Whom…………..
Answer. I saw the principal there.
Question : Whom did you see there?
(Object हटाकर शेष वाक्य को प्रश्नवाचक में बदला जाता है।)

(c) Q. Whose scooter…………….?
Answer. I brought Ram’s scooter.
Question : Whose scooter did you bring ?

(d) Q. What…………..?
Answer. We take bread and butter for breakfast.
Question: What do you take for breakfast?
(Object हटाकर शेष वाक्य को प्रश्नवाचक में बदला जाता है।)

(e) Q. Which fruit……………?
Answer. I like banana the most.
Question: Which fruit do you like the most?

(f) Q. When……………?
Answer. I get up at 6:30 a.m.
Question : When do you get up ?

(g) Q. Where……………?
Answer. They live in a hut?
Question : Where do they live ?

Answer. I went to him to see his father ?

Answer. I bought a car because I wanted to learn driving?
