Rajasthan Board RBSE Class 6 English Grammar The Adjective

परिभाषा – विशेषण वह शब्द होता है जो किसी संज्ञा या सर्वनाम की विशेषता प्रकट करता है ।
An Adjective is a word which qualifies a Noun or a Pronoun.
जैसे – a good boy, some rice, three girls. यहाँ ‘good’ शब्द boy की; ‘some’ rice की तथा ‘three शब्द girls की विशेषता बता रहा है।

Kinds of Adjectives (विशेषण के भेद)
Adjectives प्रायः सात प्रकार के होते हैं –

1. Proper Adjectives (व्यक्तिवाचक विशेषण)
2. Adjectives of Quality (गुणवाचक विशेषण)
3. Adjectives of Quantity (परिमाणवाचक विशेषण)
4. Adjectives of Number (संख्यावाचक विशेषण)
5. Demonstrative Adjectives (संकेतवाचक विशेषण)
6. Distributive Adjectives (प्रत्येकवाचक विशेषण)
7. Interrogative Adjectives (प्रश्नवाचक विशेषण)

1. Proper Adjectives – जो Adjectives किसी Proper Noun से बनते हैं, Proper Adjectives कहलाते हैं । जैसे –

2. Adjectives of Quality – इससे संज्ञा (Noun) या सर्वनाम (Pronoun) के गुण का बोध होता है। जैसे – A great man, a good girl, a black dog.

3. Adjectives of Quantity – वे शब्द जो वस्तुओं की नाप, तौल या परिमाण का बोध कराते हैं, Adjective of Quantity कहलाते हैं । जैसे – A little milk, some rice, no water.

4. Adjectives of Number – इससे वस्तुओं या व्यक्तियों की संख्या का पता चलता है । जैसे – the books, the first man, many men, a few chairs.

5. Demonstrative Adjectives – ये Adjectives किसी व्यक्ति, वस्तु की ओर संकेत करने के लिए प्रयुक्त होते हैं । जैसे- this, that, these, those This book is mine. Those pens are yours.

6. Distributive Adjectives – ये Adjectives वस्तुओं या व्यक्तियों के अलग-अलग होने का बोध कराते हैं । जैसे -Each boy will get a pen. Every girl knows dancing.

7.InterrogativeAdjectives- इनका प्रयोग प्रश्न पूछने के लिए किया जाता है। जैसे -Whose house is this ? Which pencil is yours? नोट-यदि Whose, which, या What आदि के बाद Noun आता है तो ये Interrogative Adjective होते हैं। यदि इनके बाद Nouns नहीं आते हैं तो ये Interrogative Pronouns कहलाते हैं ।

DEGREES OF COMPARISON

Adjective की Degrees of Comparison की तीन श्रेणियाँ होती हैं –
(1) Positive (पॉज़िटिव)
(2) Comparative (कम्पैरेंटिव)
(3) Superlative (सुपर्सेटिव)

(1) Positive Degree – इससे किसी की तुलना नहीं होती बल्कि यह किसी वस्तु या व्यक्ति के गुण या दोष पर प्रकाश डालती है । जैसे – Ram is tall. The girl is beautiful.

(2) Comparative Degree- इसका प्रयोग उस समय किया जाता है जब दो वस्तुओं या व्यक्तियों के गुणों या दोषों में परस्पर तुलना की जाये । जैसे – Sita is taller than Mira. Sita is more beautiful than Sarla. नोट – Comparative degree में than का प्रयोग किया जाता है ।

(3) Superlative Degree- इसका प्रयोग उस समय किया जाता है जब एक वस्तु या व्यक्ति की तुलना उसके समस्त समूह से की जाये और उसे सर्वोपरि माना जाये । जैसे-Ram is the best boy in the class. This is the best pen. नोट- आपके course में केवल Positive तथा Comparative degrees ही है।

Comparative Degree बनाने के नियम (1) Positive में -er लगाकर । जैसे

(2) अगर Adjective का अन्तिम अक्षर e हो तो सिर्फ -r जोड़ते हैं। जैसे –

(3) अगर Positive Degree के अन्त में एक Consonant हो और उससे पहले कोई Single (अकेला) Vowel (a, e, i, 0, u) हो तो er लगाते समय अन्तिम अक्षर double हो जाता है। जैसे –

(4) यदि Adjective का अन्तिम अक्षर y हो और y के पहले कोई Consonant आये तो y को i में बदलकर -er और -est लगाते हैं । अगर y से पहले कोई Vowel हो तो y को i में नहीं बदलते हैं। जैसे –
