LETTER-WRITING
(पत्र-लेखन)
परीक्षा में छात्रों से पत्र (Letter) या प्रार्थना-पत्र (Application) लिखने को कहा जाता है । पत्र लिखने के कुछ सामान्य नियम हैं । पत्र सम्बन्धियों को लिखे जाते हैं। यो मित्रों को। कुछ पत्र दूसरों को भी लिखे जाते हैं । पत्र-लेखन के सम्बन्ध में कुछ जानने योग्य बातें निम्नलिखित हैं –
- पत्र लिखने वाले को अपना पूरा पता पत्र के ऊपरी बायें कोने पर लिखना चाहिये । जैसे –

January 10, 20…… - पते के नीचे वह तारीख लिखनी चाहिये जिस दिन पत्र लिखा जा रहा है । विराम-चिह्नों पर भी ध्यान दीजिये।
- तब उसी पत्र की बायीं ओर पते के नीचे लिखिये –
My dear Father, My dear Mother, My dear Uncle, My dear Mohan, My dear Friend .etc. (My dear की जगह केवल Dear भी लिखा जा
सकता है ।) - इसके बाद पत्र में लिखी जाने वाली मुख्य बातें लिखें।
- पत्र के अन्त में नीचे बायीं ओर लिखिये –
Your loving son, Your loving daughter, Your sincere friend, Your loving brother
आदि। आप Yours lovingly भी लिख सकते हैं । मित्र को Your sincere friend की जगह Yours sincerely भी लिखा जा सकता है । - उसके बाद पत्र लिखने वाले को अपना नाम स्पष्ट शब्दों में लिखना चाहिये । नाम लिखने के बाद Full Stop मत लगाइये । उसे यों ही छोड़ दीजिये ।
- पत्र की भाषा सरल होनी चाहिये । छोटे-छोटे वाक्य लिखिये । आवश्यकता हो तो Paragraph बदला जा सकता है ।
- पत्र को अधूरे वाक्य से कभी समाप्त नहीं कीजिये । । कुछ परीक्षोपयोगी पत्र आपके लिए लिखे जा रहे हैं। इन्हें अच्छी तरह पढ़िये और फिर उसी तरह के पत्र लिखने का अभ्यास कीजिये । पत्र केवल परीक्षा की दृष्टि से ही उपयोगी नहीं होते, बल्कि वे सदा उपयोगी होते हैं । हर व्यक्ति किसी न किसी को पत्र लिखता ही रहता है ।
1. You are Sumit from Bharatpur. You want to buy some books. You need 1000. So write a letter to your father asking him to send you money.
(आप भरतपुर निवासी सुमित हैं। आप कुछ पुस्तकें खरीदना चाहते हैं। आपको एक हजार रुपये की आवश्यकता है। अतः आप अपने पिता को रुपये भेजने हेतु निवेदन करते हुए एक पत्र लिखिये ।)
