Opposites अर्थात् विलोम शब्द ऐसे शब्दों को कहते हैं। जिनके अर्थ एक-दूसरे के विपरीत होते हैं जैसे Bad (बुरा) का विलोम Good (अच्छा) आपकी परीक्षा में विलोम शब्द सम्बन्धी एक प्रश्न पूछा जायेगा

विलोम शब्द बनाने के कुछ नियम

नियम 1.
कुछ शब्दों से पहले dis लगाकर विलोम शब्द बनाये जा सकते हैं। जैसे

नियम 2.
कुछ शब्दों से पहले un जोड़कर विलोम शब्द बनाना। जैसे –

नियम 3.
कुछ शब्द से पहले in जोड़कर विलोम शब्द बनाना। जैसे –

नियम 4.
कुछ शब्द से पहले mis जोड़कर विलोम शब्द बनाना। जैसे –

कुछ शब्द से पहले ir, il या im लगाकर विलोम शब्द बनाना। जैसे –

कुछ शब्द के अन्त में ful के स्थान पर less लगाकर विलोम शब्द बनाना जैसे –

कुछ शब्द से पहले उपसर्ग को बदलकर विलोम शब्द बनाना। जैसे –

नियम 8.
शब्दों को पूरी तरह बदलकर विलोम शब्द बनाना। जैसे –

विलोम शब्द बनाते समय निम्नलिखित बातों का ध्यान रखना चाहिए :
1. जिस Part of Speech का शब्द है, उसका विलोम भी उसी Part of Speech का होना चाहिए, भिन्न नहीं। उदाहरण के लिए यदि कोई शब्द Noun है तो उसका विलोम भी Noun ही होगा। यदि वह शब्द Verb है तो विलोम भी Verb ही होगी। जैसे –

2. Verb को विलोम शब्द Verb तो होगा ही साथ ही उसका tense भी उस शब्द के tense के समान ही होगी। जैसे –

3. यदि किसी शब्द का Number, Singular है तो विलोम शब्द का Number भी Singular ही होगा। यदि उसका Number, Plural है तो विलोम भी Plural ही होगा। जैसे –
