Message लिखी हुई या बोली हुई सूचना होती है। कभी-कभी यह होता है कि फोन पर कोई सूचना आती है और जिस व्यक्ति के लिए सूचना आती है वह वहाँ उपस्थित नहीं होता है। यदि सूचना पाने वाले को किसी कार्य से बाहर जाना पड़े तो वह उस सूचना (Message) को लिखकर जाता है।
Message लिखते समय निम्न बातें महत्वपूर्ण हैं :
- लिखित Message में पता लिखने की आवश्यकता नहीं होती।
- अभिवादन (Salutation) के शब्द अत्यन्त संक्षेप में हों।
- Message पाने का समय तथा दिनांक इसमें लिखना चाहिए।
- Message देने वाले का नाम तथा Message को स्पष्ट रूप से लिखें।
- अपनी ओर से कुछ भी न लिखें।
- अपना नाम Message के अंत में लिख दें।
