Animal’s Strike Textbook Questions Solved

Summary of the Lesson
The chapter is about the animals of a Z00. Everyday they used to have fun, when all the Visitors had left. This get-together of animals was held at a place near the pond almost in the middle of the z00. The animals enjoyed this time with each other very much. But from past few days none of them was interested in the get-together. Only Huttu, the owl, noticed this change and actually wanted to know the reason behind such behaviour of all the animals. Motu, the elephant, shared his feelings first that how the visitors make fun of him and were greedy about his tusks. Then Rangu, the crocdile, added how he got hurt when some kids fed him with a stone alongwith potatoes. He was in pain for ten days. Kalu, the bear, also complained that how a group of naughty boys fed him with a blade clevery hidden in slices of bread. Those naughty boys were very happy to see kahu in pain as they laughed and clapped their hands.

Even the tiger was not left behind. He also added how Visitors threw stones at him when they found him sleeping peacefully. Hallu, the gibbon, also the most popular in the z00, had also the same experience. Hallu started feeling lonely when Rolu, his best friend, was sent to the other zoo and hence all the funny activities of Hallu stopped at once and he could not entertain kids and visitors anymore. Hallu also shared how he escaped to save himself when two naughty boys tried to cut his tail. After hearing all the sad and bad experiences from various members of the z00, Huttu was very sad. He suggested an idea to the animals so that they can teach a lesson to the visitors. The idea was to go on a strike i.e. to stay inside the rooms allotted to them so that visitors could realize that animals are angry with them. All the animals agreed with the idea and went to their cages. The next day was Sunday when everyone enjoys a holiday and a big rush is expected at the Z00. And as expected, huge crowd consisted of school kids, grown ups and others came to visit the z00. But they were disappointed when they could not see animals in the Z00. They could not guess what could be the reason behind it. There was a nine year old girl named Nivedita who tried to guess.

She shared this with her friend Shelly that, “as the animals are teased by most of the visitors, animals are tired of being bullied ” and teased. That is why we cannot see anyone of them around. Shelly came up with an idea which could help in showing the animals that they are being loved by the kids and everyone. She, with all her school mates and friends worked upon the idea of painting a banner which read as, “We love you, animals. We’ll never tease you again. All the students went to the z00 again with that big banner. They moved with the banner from one cage to the other to show their love and concern for animals. This activity of the students made animals feel better. They came to know about the love and concern of students for them. As the animals were also missing kids, they came out of their cages into the open space. The children and visitors were very happy to see the animals again.

Out of different animals I saw, gibbon and bear I liked most. They all were looking very cute and innocent. It appeared as if I have come in small jungle with lion roaring and monkeys chattering. I saw different birds too. The pelican and heron were awesome. I did not give animals anything to eat as it was instructed on their cages. When I saw them I felt why some people torture them.
