Show that if two such isosceles triangles occurring in the previous question have equal base length Class 9

Question 1.

Show that if two such isosceles triangles (occurring in the previous question) have equal base length, they are congruent to each other. Class 9

Answer:

Given: ∆OAB and ∆OCD are isosceles AB = CD

To show: ∆OAB ≅ ∆OCD.

Proof:

In ∆OAB and ∆OCD

OA = OC ...[radii of the same circle]

OB = OD ...[radii of the same circle]

AB = CD ........[Given]

∴ ∆OAB ≅ ∆OCD... [By SSS congruence]
